SEAMEO School Hub - Online Training : Disaster Risk Reduction In School

BACKGROUND

We were living in the beautiful earth. But this place are not always save for us. Sometimes disasters are come. A lot of lost that caused by the disasters. Nature disaster, we do not know how and when it will comes. 

The frequency of natural disasters is increasing in South East Asia in this 21st Century. Natural disasters are commonly defined as natural hazard events – floods, droughts, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc. – that cause significant human and economic losses.

Disasters can also occur during school hours where children are still in school. For reducing the risk, Disaster risk reduction programme are nedded to reduce the losses. 

SEAMEO School Hub - Online Training : Disaster Risk Reduction In School program will be one of the programs that enable us to plan and implement disaster risk reduction in schools

SEAMEO School Hub - Online Training : Disaster Risk Reduction In School program will be implemented on 27 August 2018 until 22 September 2018 via WebEx.



OBJECTIVES

• To increase the knowledge and understanding of the disaster phenomenon, its different contextual aspects, impacts and Disaster risk.
• To increase skills and abilities for design and implementing the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Strategy.

DATE & VENUE

The  programme will be carried out online via WebEx from 27 August 2018 to 22 September 2018

Tentative Schedule

1. Training Duration (preferred training date & time): Start at 27 August 2018 (2 PM – 4 PM [GMT+7])
2. Assignment Period for Participants:  8 – 15 September 2018
3. Deadline for Submission of Assignments:  15 September 2018 (10 PM GMT+7)
4. Evaluation of Assignment by the School Team: 15 – 21 September 2018
5. Announcement of the Best Teams/Winners: 22 September 2018 (2 PM GMT+7)

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPATING 

Participats that wish to join are required to comply to the following requirements

1. Participant must register to Google Online Registration Form. ( http://bit.ly/SSH-DRRInSchool )
2. Participant should join the SEAMEO School Hub - Online Training : Disaster Risk Reduction In School session in the meeting room.
3. Participant should complete the assignment, in order to get the e-certificate

EXPECTED OUTPUT

Outputs that are expected after the programme completed is The School of participants can design and implement disaster risk reduction programme
